Penguin produced an excellent series of graphical adventures.  Due to a copyright dispute with Penguin books, they were forced to change their name to Polarware and apparently are not allowed to say the name of that cute litlle South Pole dweller to this day.. ;).

Sword of Kadash was an action/adventure game, and Xyphus was an RPG game. For a good laugh, read the last sentence of the fine print on the back of every Pengiun (not Polarware) box (the pictures should be high enough resolution that you can make it out..)
